Cuijk Ceuclum Roman bridge, castellum, temple Church tower

Cuijk was known in Roman times as Ceuclum and was one of the few Roman cities in the Low Countries. In the 4th century a bridge was built over the river Maas and the castellum was rebuild, also a Roman temple was erected. My wife's family lived on the spot where the castellum hgad been and the Groote straat here follows the old Roman road. The museum is situated in the 14th century clock tower of the previous church.
